 Paluel, France Memorial

This plaque was erected in June 2011 (with 91st BG Veterans, family, and supportors in attendance) in memory of the crew of aircraft 42-29537 of the 324th Squadron, which crashed here on 28 MAR 1943. The crew were listed as: 1st Lt John A Coen, Pilot; 2nd Lt Caryll D. Nobbs, Co-pilot; 2nd Lt Harold A. Davidson, Navigator; 2nd Lt John W. Butler, Bombardier; T/Sgt John C. Strozzi, Engineer; S/Sgt Domenic A. Caruso, Turret Gunner; S/Sgt Francis E. Byrne, Radio Operator; S/Sgt James M. Bechtel, Left Waist Gunner; S/Sgt Paul E. Kyes, Right Waist Gunner; S/Sgt Louis T. McLane, Tail Gunner. If you look closely, you will see 7 parachutes. These airmen were killed by German soldiers. The remaining airmen were killed in the crash.
