 Silver Alter Bowl

silvbowl.jpg (66805 bytes)

General S. T. Wray had the Silver Bowl designed, cast and engraved by John Bull, Silversmiths of London, 1963. This precious gift was given to the American Battle Monuments Commission (Madingley Cemetery).

The inscription reads:

PRESENTED BY THE 91st BOMB GROUP (H) MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION IN REMEMBRANCE OF THEIR COMRADES AND ALL OTHERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCES WHO DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY.

The Silver Bowl was stolen in 1986 and replaced with the current brass flower bowl.
