Pingel's Crew Factoid - Names of crewmen: 1st Lt. Clarence H. Pingel, Pilot; Lt. Goss, Co-pilot; Lt. Gettis, Bombardier; Lt. Marsh, Navigator; Jocoby, Engineer; Ehret, Radio Operator; Harold H. Humm, Ball Turret Gunner (KIA 21 June 1944, Sleepytime Gal); Oswosky, Right Waist Gunner; Kunst, Left Waist Gunner; Cascone, Tail Gunner.

Lt. Pingel's original ship issued to him and his crew upon arrival to Bassignbourn was Superstitious Aloysius (#982), but he also flew other B-17s such as Wee Willie and Red Alert.
