Garland's Crew Factoid: This crew arrived at Bassingbourn as a replacement crew on or about April 10, 1945. The crews only mission was on April 21, 1945 to Munich Germany, in "Little Patches" to bomb the marshalling yards. 2nd Lt. George R. Lucas and Sgt. Thomas M. Jones did not fly the mission. 1st Lt. Walter B. Garland flew as co-pilot and an experienced pilot, Jack Walker, flew as pilot. The 401st was on stand down on April 25, 1945, the last mission for the 91st Bomb Group.
