I do not know what war Mr. Kast was in but I, for one, was grateful to be back under allied controll. We were fed well and clothed well and we were going home. Lucky Strike was the start of this journey. I was a prisoner at Stalage Luft 3 for two years. Can't understand Mr. Kast.

I spent 2 years as a POW and never was in a camp under allied control that was worst than a POW Stalag. Walter Kast must have been in one super camp as a POW.

I flew as the Navigator on a B-17. 91st Bomb Group 324th Squadron
Our plane was shot down during our 8th mission over Germany on July 20, 1944. The 4 officers were POWs in Stalag Luft 1 (Barth, Germany).
The entire crew bailed out without serious injury to anyone.
I don't know where the enlisted crew was held in Germany.
We were liberated by Russian Troops that had overrun the camp and flown back to allied control on B-17s that came to a local German airstrip.
The AAF took us to Camp Lucky Strike, France...where our treatment was not quite as good as when we were prisoners.

Good job on making this page. I learned a lot about the 91st and the men that surved with this group.

My Father, Elmer 'Joe' Harvey, was pilot of the Out House Mouse at the close of the war. I've met his ball gunneer years ago in NY, Goerge Odenwaller. My Father has passed on, but my brother and I are recording his log book to computer. If anyone has any information on Goerge or any of his crew, missions, etc, we'd like to hear from you.
Thanks

Hello.

My dad, Paul "Buck" Dugan was with the 91st. I think he was in England in late '44 & '45. He was a supply sergeant. Before that, he was at Ellington Field, Texas. I have a few photos from England, most are at Ellington.

I will try and scan a few of the photos/momentos from the 91st and pass them on.

Dad died nine years ago. If anyone recalls him from his time in England, I'd appreciate your memories.

Thanks for your sacrifice, and have a Merry Christmas.

This site is really moving. To think men of a similar to me (18)age faced death every day.It is interesting and refreshing to see that the memory of those who died is remembered by such a damn good site.
